About the Gym
Ruckus Athletics sets out to preserve the art of eight limbs through technique, power, consistency and community, and the reviews back that up — it's frequently called one of the most authentic Muay Thai gyms people have trained at outside Thailand. Founder Pablo C. Rayo started in Muay Thai in Astoria, Queens under Aziz Nabih and developed both Thai and Dutch-style striking in New York. Partner Erin Stuckenbruck and Dutch coach Titus Lotgering round out a team praised for high-level pad work and an inclusive, international atmosphere. The timetable is detailed and varied — drills, pads, bags, clinch and sparring, plus kids' classes — and the gym offers single, monthly and private options. For an English-speaking audience wanting serious, authentic Muay Thai in a tight-knit setting, this is a standout.
