About the Gym
Boran Gym / Academia Jaramillo is positioned — credibly — as the number-one reference for traditional Muay Thai in Seville, and it is the city's pioneer in the discipline. Master José Carlos Jaramillo Sanz began his martial arts path in 1984 and has trained under names like Dan Inosanto, Chai Sirisute and Marco De Cesaris; he holds 13 Khan in Muay Thai and a 4th Dan in kickboxing, is a Spanish and European Muay Thai champion, and has competed at three IAMTF World Championships in Bangkok. The room has a notably traditional, family feel that long-term students return to for years, with respect and discipline taught alongside technique. While the academy also offers kickboxing, Kali, full contact, self-defense and Muay Boran, Muay Thai is unmistakably the heart of the place, and its students compete and win internationally. A free trial class is offered, with classes for ages 12+ and adults.
