About the Gym

Muay Thai Academy Duran Gym, in the Woensel-Zuid district, is the most serious muay thai address in Eindhoven. It was founded in 2006 by Khru Duran Ebren, who has taught the sport since 1994 and holds the 14th Khan — the highest international grade, earned in Thailand in 2010. The school is officially recognised by IFMA, MON, WMC and other federations, which means members can compete in national and international tournaments. The pedigree is real: in 2025, fourteen-year-old Eindhoven fighter Jaimely Pruijmboom, trained here, became IFMA muay thai world champion with a technical knockout in the final in Abu Dhabi. Yet the gym is far from competition-only. Ebren's philosophy — "you don't train against each other, but with each other" — runs through everything, and recreational members train alongside fighters in a culture built on tradition, fair play, honour and respect. You'll learn the Thai names of techniques and the background of the sport, not just how to throw a kick. With youth classes (from age 13), unlimited adult membership and a free trial class, it's the natural first stop for anyone serious about authentic muay thai in Eindhoven.
