Muay Thai in Granada
Granada

Granada is a university city first and a tourist city second. Around sixty thousand students live here, the Sierra Nevada sits an hour up the road, and the cost of living is among the lowest of any major Spanish city. The Muay Thai scene reflects all of that: three clubs, none of them large, all built around local members rather than visiting trainees, and priced accordingly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which is the best Muay Thai gym in Granada?

It depends on what you want. Warrior Soul in Zaidin is the most established and the strongest choice if you want a long-running school with a head coach who has taken fighters to professional level. Thirteen Monkey is the most striking-focused of the three and the easiest if you need morning classes. The Fight Factory has the deepest competition programme and the clearest pricing, but sits in Armilla outside the city. There is no single best gym: the honest answer is that these three serve different people.

Can I train Muay Thai in Granada as a beginner?

Yes, and it is a good city for it. Warrior Soul has a long track record with newcomers and children alongside its competitors, and The Fight Factory runs a beginner adult class that is separate from the elite group, so you are not dropped into a fight team session on day one. Coaching is mainly in Spanish, though technique translates by demonstration.

How much does Muay Thai cost in Granada?

Cheap by European standards. The Fight Factory publishes 40 euros a month for two sessions a week and 55 euros for unlimited, with a one-off 25 euro signup fee on top of the first month, and 35 euros a month for children. Warrior Soul and Thirteen Monkey do not publish rates, so contact them directly. Expect the same rough band across the city.

Where are the gyms actually located?

Warrior Soul is on Calle Roma in Zaidin, walkable from the centre. Thirteen Monkey is on Calle los Juncos in the south of the city. The Fight Factory is in Armilla, a separate town about five kilometres south of Granada, with a tram stop directly outside the gym. If you are staying centrally and do not want to commute, the first two are the practical options.

Do I need to speak Spanish?

It helps considerably. Spanish is the default language of instruction at all three clubs. Granada's international student population means you will usually find training partners who speak English, but coaching itself is unlikely to be delivered in it. Basic Spanish will make a noticeable difference.

Is Granada worth a dedicated training trip?

Not really, and it would be misleading to suggest otherwise. Three clubs, no accommodation packages, no training-tourism infrastructure and Spanish-language coaching make this a place to train while you are here for the city, not a destination you travel to in order to train. For a focused block, Thailand remains the benchmark. Granada is excellent if you are studying here, living here, or want a few sessions during a wider Andalusian trip.
