About the Gym
Reykjavik Fight Club opened recently as the only major combat sports gym located in central Reykjavik proper (most others sit in Kópavogur, 10km south). The Síðumúli 15 location includes a spacious training room, sauna, health bar, showers, and changing rooms.
Head coach Mantas Balčiauskas brings an unusual combination of elite competitive credentials and medical expertise. His boxing record includes 8 Lithuanian National Championships across senior categories, plus titles at junior, youth, and U-19 levels. He represented Lithuania on the national boxing team for 8 years and competed at the senior national level by age 18. He also holds two Bachelor's degrees in rehabilitation and sports education and works as a licensed physiotherapist at Landspítali Hringbraut.
This means the gym's genuine strength is the science-based approach to training, injury prevention, and athlete development. For someone who wants serious technique instruction combined with rehabilitation knowledge under one roof, the combination is rare. The trade-off is honest: this is a boxing-led coach offering Muay Thai as a secondary discipline, not a Muay Thai specialist.
