Nexus Stockholm
Stockholm

Nexus Stockholm has been running since 2003 and is by review volume (170 reviews at 4.8) Stockholm's most-rated combat sports gym. The credentials list is unusually strong for a Scandinavian gym. UFC alumni from the club include Alexander 'The Mauler' Gustafsson — three-time UFC Light Heavyweight title challenger, inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame for his fight against Jon Jones at UFC 165 — alongside Nico Musoke and Jonathan Westin. Their current Muay Thai head coach Mano runs the Loyalty Muay Thai program inside Nexus and trained Noah Pirot, who won double Swedish Championship gold (Senior and U23) in 2026. The wider coaching team is genuinely deep: Luis Lagerman trained under Angelo Dundee (Muhammad Ali's legendary trainer) with 25+ years in Miami professional boxing; Martin Machl is a BJJ black belt with gold at the 2026 Nordic BJJ Open Absolute Master division.

About the Gym

An honest note about the profile: Nexus is explicitly a multi-discipline martial arts gym — MMA, Thai boxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, boxing, submission wrestling, and strength and conditioning all share the same coaching team and space. For anyone wanting a combat sports environment with multiple disciplines under one roof and serious coaching credentials in each, this is the obvious Stockholm choice. For Muay Thai purists who want a single-discipline gym with no other arts pulling at the schedule, Slagskeppet is the more focused alternative. Membership starts at 699 SEK/month. The Bromma location at Alvik is well-connected by metro (Alvik station is minutes away) but sits outside the central city core. The kids' and youth programs (ages 7-17) are run through partner organization STHLM SHOOT & Loyalty Muay Thai at the same address.

The wider Nexus coaching team includes Luis Lagerman (Head Coach Boxing, 50+ years experience, studied under Angelo Dundee in Miami), Martin Machl (Head Coach BJJ, 1st degree black belt, 20 years at the club), and Enrique Parraguez (Head Coach MMA, 27 years experience, BJJ purple belt, Viaplay UFC analyst).
