About the Gym
Vos Gym earned its 'House of Legends' nickname honestly. Founded by Johan Vos — himself a founding member of Mejiro before branching off — it dominated the sport for decades with names like Ernesto Hoost, Lucia Rijker and Ivan Hippolyte. Today it's led by sensei Ivan Hippolyte, a multiple Muay Thai, Savate and kickboxing champion and one of the founding figures of Dutch kickboxing, who coached K-1 champion Remy Bonjasky and worked with MMA's Mirko Filipović. Honest note: like Mejiro, this is primarily a kickboxing institute with deep Muay Thai roots, plus BJJ and boxing classes. Visitors and one-off travellers consistently rate the coaching world-class. A genuine piece of fighting history with elite-level instruction.

Ivan Hippolyte
Sensei Ivan Hippolyte holds multiple European and world titles in Muay Thai, Savate and kickboxing and is one of the founders of Dutch kickboxing. He became head coach of Vos Gym after his competitive career, working with K-1 champion Remy Bonjasky and MMA fighter Mirko Filipović.
