About the Gym
Double Kick is a striking gym in Kearny Mesa that opened March 2025, co-founded by Chris Widlowski and Jessie Magusen, two experienced fighters and coaches.
Widlowski specializes in Dutch-style kickboxing and MMA striking. He has corner experience training fighters competing in the UFC, ONE FC, and Glory. Magusen has 20 years experience and a 56-fight amateur and professional career, holding three titles across multiple weight classes. Stephanie Tanguay leads the Muay FIIT program — she is an undefeated 10-0 WBC Muay Thai champion.
The gym's identity blends Muay Thai and Dutch-style kickboxing, which makes it distinct from pure traditional Thai gyms in San Diego. The training is more striking-system focused than strictly traditional Muay Thai. The community is described as inclusive of all levels, with classes for kids and adults, beginners through competitive fighters.
