Cost of Muay Thai Training in Amsterdam (2026 Guide)

Bikes outside Centraal, with the Sint Nicolaaskerk behind. Most of the gyms in this guide are a 15-minute ride from here.

Amsterdam Muay Thai pricing runs from about 55 to 90 euros a month for unlimited training, and most people end up paying 65 to 75. That is roughly a third of what the same training costs in Singapore, and cheaper than London, for a city that happens to be the birthplace of Dutch kickboxing.

One thing to know before you compare prices: most Amsterdam gyms teach Dutch-style kickboxing, not Thai-style Muay Thai. The techniques overlap, the culture does not. If you specifically want clinch, elbows and a Thai approach, there is essentially one dedicated gym in the city, and it is also the most expensive one. We flag which is which below.

All figures come from the gyms’ own websites and booking pages, checked in September 2026 while updating our Amsterdam directory. Prices change, so treat this as a map, not a contract.

What you’re paying for

Amsterdam gyms sell training in five shapes:

  • Trial lesson or intro package. 12,50 to 29,50 euros, usually one class, sometimes three.
  • Frequency subscriptions. Pay for 1, 2 or 3 classes a week. Cheaper than unlimited, and the most common structure in the city.
  • Unlimited subscriptions. 55 to 90 euros a month for as many classes as you want.
  • Class cards (rittenkaart). 5 to 20 classes prepaid, valid for months, no subscription. The right choice if you’re in town for a few weeks.
  • Contract length. The same subscription costs more if you can cancel monthly, and less on a 6 or 12-month contract. This matters more in Amsterdam than in most cities.

Two things you will not find here: Thailand-style camp packages with accommodation, and the 300 to 500 euro monthly tiers you see in Singapore or Dubai. Amsterdam gyms are neighbourhood gyms.

Trial lessons: 12,50 to 29,50 euros

Nearly every gym lets you try before you commit. The cheapest way in:

  • Mejiro Gym (Centrum): 12,50 for a first visit, booked online.
  • Ettaki Gym (West): single class from 15.
  • Kops Gym (Oost): 15 for a single session, no separate trial rate.
  • Patrick’s Gym (Nieuw-West): 20 for a single class credit.
  • Leth’s Muay Thai Gym (Noord): 25 for a 3-class trial package covering fundamentals, drills and mobility. Adults only, 18 and over.
  • Eastbound Gym (Oost): 29,50 intro package, 3 classes valid for two weeks.

Vos Gym and Monster Gym ask you to book a trial through their sign-up page without listing a price. Sityodtong Amsterdam does not publish prices at all, so call or message them first.

If you’re visiting for a week, note that Leth’s and Eastbound trial packages are three classes, which works out cheaper per session than any single drop-in in the city.

Monthly subscriptions: what unlimited costs

Here is every gym’s unlimited rate, cheapest first. Where a gym offers several contract lengths, the lowest rate is the longest contract.

  • Monster Gym (Nieuw-West, Osdorp): 54,99 a month, all-in with kickboxing, bag classes and fitness, on a yearly subscription.
  • Ettaki Gym (West): Gold membership from 59 a month, unlimited group classes plus fitness.
  • Kops Gym (Oost): 65 a month unlimited, or 650 for a year paid upfront.
  • Mejiro Gym (Centrum): 72,50 per 4 weeks for unlimited, on a one-year contract.
  • Eastbound Gym (Oost): 74,50 a month on a 12-month plan, 84,50 on a 3-month plan.
  • Vos Gym Amsterdam (West): 75 a month all-in, monthly terminable after 6 months.
  • Patrick’s Gym (Nieuw-West): 75 a month unlimited classes plus 24/7 gym on a 12-month contract, 85 on a 3-month contract.
  • Leth’s Muay Thai Gym (Noord): 90 a month unlimited on a 12-month contract, 92,50 on 6 months, 95 monthly terminable. There is also a 195 a month tier that includes one personal training session a month.

Read that list with the kickboxing caveat in mind. Monster, Ettaki, Kops, Patrick’s and Eastbound are fight-and-fitness gyms where Thai boxing is one class on a broad timetable. Mejiro and Vos are the historic Dutch kickboxing schools. Leth’s is the traditional Muay Thai gym. You are not comparing nine versions of the same product.

Training twice a week: the cheaper path most people miss

Unlimited sounds good, but if you train twice a week, several gyms will sell you exactly that for less:

  • Mejiro Gym: 49 per 4 weeks for once a week, 60 for twice, 70 for three times.
  • Ettaki Gym: Silver membership from 44 a month for two group classes a week plus fitness.
  • Patrick’s Gym: 55 a month for 4 classes a month, 65 for 8, on a 12-month contract.
  • Leth’s Muay Thai Gym: 70 a month for twice a week, 80 for three times, on a 12-month contract.

For a beginner training twice a week, the realistic monthly cost in Amsterdam is 44 to 70 euros, not the unlimited rate. Most people who start with unlimited do not use it.

Class cards: for visitors and the commitment-averse

If you’re in Amsterdam for a few weeks, or you simply don’t want a subscription, class cards are the answer:

  • Leth’s Muay Thai Gym: 80 for 5 classes, 150 for 10, 275 for 20.
  • Mejiro Gym: 150 for 10 classes, valid 6 months.
  • Kops Gym: 155 for 12 classes, valid 6 months.
  • Ettaki Gym: class cards from 100.
  • Patrick’s Gym: 95 for 5 credits, 20 for a single credit.

Per class, that lands at 15 to 19 euros almost everywhere. A 10-class card at Leth’s or Mejiro is the best deal for a two to four week stay.

Contract length: the hidden 10 to 20 euros

This is the part of Amsterdam pricing that trips people up. The same subscription has two or three prices depending on how long you commit:

  • Eastbound: 74,50 on 12 months versus 84,50 on 3 months. 10 euros a month for flexibility.
  • Patrick’s: every tier is 10 euros a month more on a 3-month contract than on 12 months.
  • Leth’s: 90, 92,50 or 95 for unlimited depending on 12, 6 or 1 month commitment. Only 5 euros between the extremes, the fairest spread in the city.
  • Vos Gym: one price, but you’re locked in for 6 months before it becomes monthly terminable.
  • Kops: 650 a year upfront versus 65 a month, so two months free if you pay for the year. Kops also states that monthly fees continue during holidays.

If you’re new to the sport, the sensible move is the 3-month or monthly-terminable option even though it costs more. Ten euros a month is cheap insurance against paying for a gym you stopped going to in week five.

Other fees to budget for

None of these are large, but they’re real and they’re not on the headline price:

  • Registration fee. Ettaki charges 25 one-time, Kops 10.
  • Equipment rental. Ettaki rents gloves and shin guards at 2,50 per session. Most gyms expect you to bring your own after the trial.
  • Personal training. Leth’s bundles one PT a month into its 195 tier. Others quote on request.
  • Kids classes. Patrick’s runs Kids Muay Thai at 45 a month for twice a week. Vos has a youth membership at 42,50. Kops charges 35 to 40 a month for under-16s. Monster runs a kids kickboxing class on Wednesdays.

Frequently asked questions

What is the cheapest way to train Muay Thai in Amsterdam? A 12,50 trial at Mejiro, then a twice-a-week subscription. Ettaki Silver from 44 and Mejiro’s 2x per week at 60 are the lowest recurring rates for structured training. If you only want to train occasionally, Kops at 15 per session with no subscription is the floor.

Which gym is actually Muay Thai and not kickboxing? Leth’s Muay Thai Gym in Noord. Kru Robert de Leth trained at Sityodtong in Thailand and teaches Thai-style Muay Thai including clinch. Sityodtong Amsterdam in Zuidoost also carries a Thai lineage but is a small team without published pricing. Everything else in the city is kickboxing-led, which is not a knock: Mejiro and Vos produced most of the Dutch legends.

Why doesn’t Sityodtong list prices? Some small competition-focused gyms prefer to talk to you first. It usually means they want to know what you’re after before quoting. Call, don’t assume it’s expensive.

Can I do a single drop-in class? Yes at most gyms: Kops 15, Ettaki from 15, Patrick’s 20. Leth’s and Eastbound prefer you buy a 3-class package instead, which is better value anyway.

How does Amsterdam compare to Thailand? A month of unlimited training at a Thai camp typically costs less than 90 euros a month in Amsterdam, and often includes a room. The trade-off is what it always is: Thailand for immersion, Amsterdam for a gym you can walk to after work.

The short version

Budget 65 to 75 euros a month for unlimited training at a solid Amsterdam gym, or 44 to 70 if twice a week is enough. Add a 10 to 25 euro registration fee at some gyms and your own gloves. Start with a trial, take the shorter contract even though it’s 10 euros dearer, and decide whether you want kickboxing or Muay Thai before you decide on price, because in this city that choice narrows the list faster than your budget does.
